OASIS Project Kick-off Meeting: A Collaborative Start Toward Mindful Digital Youth Engagement

The Kick-off Meeting of the OASIS Project was successfully held on 8–9 May 2025 in Athens, Greece, hosted by project partner Xenios Polis. This two-day transnational meeting brought together all consortium members [Cyprus (RESET & Conscious Communications), Ireland (Big Bucket), Belgium (YMCA)] to align on objectives, responsibilities, and timelines. The sessions began with a comprehensive presentation of the project structure, covering essential components such as project management, internal communication tools, the Gantt chart, quality assurance protocols, impact assessment strategies, and a shared commitment to environmentally sustainable practices.

A significant portion of the meeting focused on Work Package 2 presented by lead partner YMCA, where partners outlined the collaborative process for co-creating the OASIS Training Pack and Youth-Friendly Kit. Activities included the planning of transnational expert workshops, content development, pilot implementation, and localisation to ensure cultural relevance across partner countries. The host, Xenios Polis, led the detailed planning of Work Package 3, which involves the development of an interactive OASIS platform and an innovative filtering tool to support youth in navigating digital content mindfully.

Big Bucket introduced the framework for Work Package 4, highlighting the practical implementation phase where young people will be engaged in activities promoting mindful digital consumption. The final day centered on the Dissemination and Communication Plan (WP5) presented by coordinator, RESET, including strategies for website development, social media campaigns, and tools for tracking outreach and engagement. The meeting concluded with the identification of dates for upcoming meetings and the agreement on an action plan outlining the next steps. The Athens meeting set a strong foundation for effective collaboration and impactful implementation across Europe.
